Science Research Seminar (SRS)

Informational Meeting for Students

SRS is an exciting opportunity for sophomores and juniors to gain experience in a scientific field that interests them. Students in SRS meet as a class for 1st Quarter during seminar. In this class they learn to read scientific journal articles and spend time researching topics in a field of their interest. By the end of 1st quarter students are matched with a mentor in the community who is currently conducting research in that field. During 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter students work independently with their community mentor and are supported through weekly meetings with the SRS Advisor at New Vista. You can earn up to 2 science credits through this program.

To find out more information, ask questions and learn how you can get started please come to an informational meeting at lunch, 12:05pm, on Thursday May 19th in room 212. You can work individually or in teams so feel free to bring a friend!
